NY Times Climate Blogger Andrew Revkin to Keynote the LIS Citizens Summit

We are excited to announce that Andrew Revkin, longtime New York Times climate blogger and Pace University professor, will be delivering the keynote address for the 22nd annual Long Island Sound Citizens Summit.

Revkin will speak about Superstorm Sandy and climate change in general. Following his remarks, there will be a question and answer session with him.

Revkin currently writes the award-winning Dot Earth blog for the Op-Ed section of The New York Times. Previously, he covered the environment for the Times from 1995 through 2009.

Revkin also serves as the senior fellow for environmental understanding at Pace University’s Pace Academy for Applied Environmental Studies. At Pace, he teaches courses on blogging, environmental-science communication and documentary video with a focus on sustainable development.

LIS CITIZENS SUMMIT DETAILS

The Long Island Sound Citizens Summit, “Superstorm Sandy and the ‘New Normal:’ Rebuilding for Resiliency and Adapting to Climate Change,” will be held on Friday, April 26 from 9:00 A.M. to 3:15 P.M. at Iona College in New Rochelle, NY.

This year’s summit is dedicated to the memory of Art Glowka, an avid
recreational fisherman and long-time LIS citizen advocate. Art’s love for and devotion to Long Island Sound was unparalleled. He never missed the  opportunity to highlight the Sound’s vibrant wildlife. The Long Island Sound community will deeply miss his passion and commitment.
