Keeping It Green Ep. 8 – CHEAPR

Episode #8: CHEAPR

On May 19, Governor Malloy announced the Connecticut Hydrogen and Electric Automobile Purchase Rebate (CHEAPR), a new rebate program for electric vehicles. Connecticut residents, businesses, and municipalities can get a point-of-sale rebate of up to $3,000 on battery electric vehicles, fuel cell electric vehicles, and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. The governor has allocated $1 million (from a 2012 utility merger settlement) to fund the program, which is expected to last through the summer of 2015. Listen to this episode to learn more about the CHEAPR program and other steps Connecticut can take to get more electric vehicles on our roads.
