Pete Seeger was one of the great consciences of this nation. Join us in celebrating his environmental legacy!
In addition to Pete’s work for social and economic justice, he sang often of the connections between people and the land they live on, and the collective obligation to safeguard our natural resources.
One of his chiefest loves was the Hudson River, and he wrote songs like “Sailing Up My Dirty Stream” to call attention to the severe pollution affecting it. Pete’s founding of Clearwater to safeguard the Hudson helped inspire water-protection and environmental organizations around the country, like Save the Sound and the Waterkeeper movement.
Please honor his legacy by joining Save the Sound and Friday Night Folk for a tribute concert honoring the work and music of Pete Seeger.

The concert, part of the Friday Night Folk series at All Souls, will feature Hugh Birdsall, Barbara Harvey, Cathy & Paul Carolan, Bil Groth, Sandy Pliskin, Dan & Liz Spurr, Arlene Gundlach, Marcus M. Worthington, Bill and Kay Pere, Lorain Ohio with Scott Mayfield, Jay Franklin, Sherry & Woody, Marilyn Lowney’s & Debbie T, Geoff Kaufman, Nick Evento, Grace Lyn, and the Madry Temple Choir.
Admission is free, but any donation you choose to give will go to Save the Sound. Thank you for supporting our work to protect and restore the habitats and water quality of Long Island Sound, its shoreline and islands, and the rivers that flow into it, for the benefit of future generations and the wildlife that calls the Sound home.
